Semiya (Vermecilli) Upma!

For those days you don't want to put an effort in cooking but are still craving something delicious, here's a delicious quick-fix meal for satisfying those hunger pangs. Here's my take on Semiya Upma: Ingredients (for one person) 150 ml semiya (Vermecilli)  Mustard Seeds (sarson) 3 chilies Red chili powder Dal (lentils) of your choice (I use 1 tablespoon of chana dal and 1 tablespoon toor dal) Oil Coriander Leaves 1 large tomato 1 medium sized onion Haldi Salt Peanuts (optional) Recipe: Take a non-stick pan and let it heat.  Add 1-2 drops of oil. Dry roast the semiya (vermicelli) until golden-brown and set aside. Heat oil on a non-stick pan. Add the chillies and mustard seeds and let fry for half a minute.  Add a couple peanuts (optional) Add 1 tablespoon of the dals of your choice (chana and toor dal used here).  After half a minute, add the tomatoes and onions and cook until the raw smell goes away, or until you think they'r...
